MEMORY
FOAM
Q: |
What is Memory Foam? |
A: |
It is a viscoelastic,
open-celled, temperature and weight sensitive material.
Originally developed for NASA in the 1970s, it was designed
to conform to any individual's body and relieve the pressure
of the tremendous G-forces experienced by astronauts during
lift-off and flight. |
|
Q: |
Is memory foam
material different from regular foam? |
A: |
Memory Foam made up of billions of spherical shaped, open
cells that are temperature and weight sensitive, allowing it
to become softer in warmer areas (where your body is making
the most contact with the surface) and remain firmer in
cooler areas (where less body contact is being made).
Therefore, the material is able to conform to
any body shape or size—even the hard to reach lumbar area
of your back. Regular foam is not as sensitive to temperature and
will not conform to your body's unique shape. |
|
Q: |
How Does our memory foam material differ from other products claiming to be
viscoelastic? |
A: |
Simple-In many cases, other
viscoelastic products have a much lower density, and are too
soft to provide therapeutic support. Our products are
clearly marked as pure, certified 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0 lb/ft
density. |
|
Q: |
Does memory
foam sleep "hot"? |
A: |
Memory foam
toppers do sleep warmer for some people than regular beds.
By using a quilted mattress cover on top of the foam, the
bed will sleep cooler. |
|
Q: |
Isn't it better for you
to sleep on a hard mattress? |
A: |
Absolutely not! A hard,
nonconforming surface forces your body to adapt to its flat
shape, bending your spine into an unnatural position and
creating pressure points at the shoulders, hips, and feet,
which can cause you to toss and turn trying to find a more
comfortable position. The result: lower back pain and less
restful sleep. |
|
Q: |
Is there a
"breaking-in" or "adjustment" period
associated with your product? |
A: |
Most customers are very
comfortable the very first night. Others may need a few
nights to get used to the increased support they experience
in their lumbar or lower-back area. |
|
Q: |
Does a memory foam mattress require any special care or protective pad and How
do I clean it? |
A: |
None whatsoever. And, unlike
conventional mattresses, it never needs to be turned or
rotated. Do not machine wash or dry Memory
Foam Pillows or Mattress Pads. The Foam can be spot cleaned
using a mild detergent. Air dry it away from direct
sunlight. |
